BUSINESS PROFILE
Company Background
CECUBE LIMITED was founded by its director in 1989 following career experience as a control systems analyst and design engineer. This experience includes significant periods of employment
with major electrical and electronic engineering companies, covering specification and design of low power servo mechanisms to high power locomotive propulsion. Whilst offering specialist
expertise in the areas of computing, simulation and control, and railway safety cases, a thorough knowledge of associated engineering disciplines has been gained. This enables a systems
approach to be adopted to the generation of engineering solutions.
As a small, independent and professional consultancy, Cecube Ltd. is able to offer the highest level of personal service to its industrial clients. It is supported by computer technology to
provide analytical support, simulation methodologies, and quality documentation. In addition the company can offer high integrity railway software products and safety case services, conforming to
an appropriate standard (e.g. IEC 61508, EN50128, BS6224) or other sector standards. The aim is always to achieve zero defects by the use of design techniques, computer models, and rigorous
software testing and analysis.
Services Provided
The types of consultancy service offered by Cecube may be conveniently subdivided into five categories:
A. ADVISORY
Traditional consultancy - applying independent expert opinion on technical matters. Examples include the evaluation of specifications, merit judgement on proposals, and comparative
performance assessment of alternative schemes.
B. ANALYTIC
Mathematically based theory to substantiate or disprove an idea or concept. Can be either system (or subsystem) based, or possibly more abstract in nature. Includes analytic support of safety
cases by fault tree analysis and modelling.
C. PROJECT
Derivation of a system design, usually based on appropriate computer modelling methods. This may represent part of a feasibility study, a safety case, or a detailed design implementation.
D. TRAINING
In relation to expert areas such as drives, digital control or modelling, on site training in the form of short courses, lectures and seminars are available.
E. DEVELOPMENT
The introduction of new unproven ideas are researched independently by Cecube, with subsequent exclusive application development for sponsoring company.
